We designed and installed this commercial solar panel system in Emporia back in 2023 in accordance with the REAP federal solar grant. Working with Good Energy Solutions, the owner of the building was able to save money on his electric bills by making his commercial property more energy efficient by installing solar panels on the roof.

The USDA launched the REAP program to help rural business owners and agricultural producers enhance their operations with clean renewable energy. The Rural Energy for America Program gives businesses located in areas with populations of 50,000 residents or less access to grant money that can pay a major portion of the costs associated with installing solar panels up to $1,000,000.  Between the REAP grant (50% of the project cost), the 30% federal tax credit from the Inflation Reduction Act, depreciation and other incentives, many rural business owners would only have to pay a small fraction of the actual costs of installing solar on their property.

Our team installed all 20 solar modules on the south-facing side of the building, ensuring steady energy production throughout the course of the day. We expect this Emporia solar panel installation to continue providing clean renewable electricity for many more years to come.
