10.8 MW Commercial Solar Farm in West Plains, Missouri

West Plains Solar Project Details

West Plains Solar Farm

In 2021, Evergy broke ground on the largest solar array on a municipality’s local grid in the state of Missouri, a 40-acre solar farm in West Plains, Missouri. By January of 2022, the solar array began generating around 11 megawatts of electricity, powering nearly 2,000 homes. The 26,316 solar panels will generate clean renewable energy for the residents of West Plains for decades to come.

Good Energy Solutions provided much of the building materials used for the project along with manpower needed to install part of the infrastructure.

In the first year of production, the West Plains Solar Array is expected to generate 10.8 megawatts of electricity. This equates to saving over 1.3 million gallons of gasoline and recycling 3,908 tons of waste to avoid greenhouse gas emissions.
