Lawrence Solar Project Details
Located on the east side of Lawrence, the Prairie Park Nature Center features a five-acre lake, as well as wetland, woodland, and prairie environments. Visitors may walk the trails to see a wide variety of native Kansas wildlife and plants. Good Energy Solutions installed 32 solar panels on the roof of the education building.
The education building features natural habitat dioramas, educational displays and live animals, including a bird of prey collection. The nature center conducts a wide variety of environmental and recreation programs for the public, schools, scouts, adults, and other groups.
The mission of the Prairie Park Nature Center is to promote the preservation of the natural world through hands-on environmental and conservation education.
Now a large portion of the company’s monthly electric bill is offset from the electricity generated by the solar panels without the need for much upkeep or maintenance. We expect this Lawrence commercial solar panel system to provide renewable energy for decades to come.
