Overland Park Solar Project Details
The owner of this home had Good Energy Solutions design and install a new solar panel system on his Overland Park home. We placed 49 Maxeon solar panels on his roof to help offset his monthly electric bills.
In addition to the solar panels, we also designed and installed an energy storage system consisting of four Tesla Powerwall 3 batteries. These will not only keep the home’s electricity flowing during a power outage, but they also help save money each month on the homeowner’s electric bill. The batteries store excess solar energy generated during the day from the solar panels, which can then be used at night instead of drawing power from the grid. With time-of-use (TOU) plans from electric utilities, the homeowner can choose to use their batteries to supply energy during peak hours, when utilities charge more for electricity. Paired with solar and batteries, the home can operate independently from the grid for extended periods, allowing for enhance energy security.
The homeowner was nice enought to share with us his most recent electric bill. With standard Evergy fees, the homeowner’s net metering credits, and typical energy usage, their last electric bill with the solar system active was only $16.59. We expect this Overland Park solar installation to generate clean renewable energy for decades to come.
