This project reflects Evergy’s commitment to advancing clean energy infrastructure in the state while showcasing the craftsmanship and expertise of our in-house solar team.

A Modern Facility with Sustainability at Its Core

The service center encompasses a building footprint of 55,000 square feet with an associated service yard and vehicle parking for company and employee vehicles. This space allows for improved organization and safer travel, loading and unloading of material.

Our team at Good Energy Solutions partnered closely with Evergy from the design phase through final installation, ensuring the solar array was engineered for maximum performance, efficiency, and long-term reliability.

Evergy Commercial Solar Battery

Using two Sol-Ark L3-HV-60kWh energy storage cabinets gives the Evergy Emporia Service Center 120 kWh of battery storage capacity, providing the facility with greater control over when and how it uses electricity. For a commercial facility, energy storage can help reduce demand charges by supplying stored energy during periods of peak consumption, while also allowing the facility to capture and use excess solar generation rather than sending it back to the grid. Just as importantly, battery storage provides an additional layer of energy resilience, helping maintain critical operations during grid interruptions, brownouts, or other power-quality events. For a facility like the Emporia Service Center, that combination of cost control, energy flexibility, and backup power can make storage a valuable part of a long-term energy strategy.
